Commissioner of Insurance and Kaiser Permanente Enter Agreement to Provide $155 Million for Colorado Consumers
Governor Ritter, Commissioner of Insurance Marcy Morrison, and Kaiser Permanente Colorado President Donna Lynne have jointly announced a plan to provide financial relief to employers and individuals as well as create enhanced health care options for Colorado’s underserved.
The two year plan will provide $155 million in financial relief to employers and individuals that purchase health care coverage from Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado during the 2009 and 2010 calendar year.
The financial relief will be in the form of premium credits, enhanced benefits to employers and individual customers, and financial assistance to support health care needs for lower income members.
“As a non-profit health care provider, Kaiser Permanente’s mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve,” said Donna Lynne, President of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. “Our strong financial foundation provides us with a unique opportunity to be part of the solution for bringing affordable health care to Colorado during these difficult economic times.”
